Fall Summary
Fall Summary

November 23, 2009
Boston, Ma.

Thanksgiving is in 3 days and I am so excited because I love to eat on thanksgiving.  I love to go for a run in the morning and then spend the day eating and hanging out with family!  My family is coming up to Boston to celebrate Thanksgiving and my husband’s family as well.

It should be a good group and I’m looking forward to it. Yes I am cooking but more so helping.  My brother and his wife do a lot and my mom and Dave’s mom makes some dishes too so I’m not going to take all the credit!  Hopefully it will be a nice day and we can spend some time outside with the kids.  Back when I was younger we use to play football in the yard, maybe we will throw the football around a bit.  Speaking of football, my poor Jets are having a tough one, but I’m still cheering them on.Well since I have been out of touch since September 13th, I thought I would summarize what I have been up to and not up to…….

End of September:

Attended a Red Sox game- me and Dave had a night out and went and saw the Red Sox play and I’m not even sure who they played, that really shows I have not been keeping up with my journals!

Ran 3 nights of clinics up in Merrimack New Hampshire.  Trained a great group of young girls.  Each clinic they improved and that made me happy

Started a baby class with Sidney at Creative movements in Needham.    It is great to see Sidney get involved in singing, climbing on mats, trying to play with other kids and pretty much just grow.

Went to the Rodman Ride for kids- which is a bike race in which you can raise money for any organization in the race that you want.  I went there not to ride but to sign autographs for America Scores.  A group I work with that I really like.  They provide and after school program for inner city kids that includes soccer and creative writing.

October:

Met and amazing girl named Nora.  She is battling Cancer.  She went through a month of chemo and was at children's hospital in Boston for a month.  She is now back home, back at school, and has had the tumor taken out of her leg.  She is doing great in her recovery and I talk to her requently on email and she sounds like your typical young girl but boy is she a tough young girl!

Went to Perrysburg Ohio to be a part of a fundraiser event, Kickin’ to find the cure!  It was a great night. I signed some autographs and talked to the crowd before the high school soccer game.  They raised some money and it was a great trip for me.

Attended a clinic in West Chester Pa.  West Chester United Soccer Club.  I did 2 nights of clinics with girls and had a blast.  One of best friends lives out there so I got to see her and her family and put clinics on for the club.  I miss my friends Elizabeth, Frank, Frankie, Mary and Catherine!

I went up to Concord Ma. for their Columbus Day Tourney, this is called the Kristine Lilly Capitol Cup Soccer Tournament.   I go up there because the man that runs Stonyfield Yogurt and I have built a great relationship and we help the sport grow and share the importance of taking care of your body and eating right.

Sidney was baptized at Grace Church in Dover Massachusetts.  It was a beautiful fall day and the whole family was there.  My little girl looked so cute.  Grace Church is a beautiful place and a great service is done every Sunday at 9:30.

Headed to North Carolina for Mia’s Golf fundraiser tourney.  It was a great time; unfortunately the golf got changed to bowling, which actually was a lot of fun and very competitive.  She still did a great job raising money for her foundation.

After that we headed to Tennessee to see my good friend Ange.  Mia, Tish, Ange and I all went to UNC together and we had a little reunion I Tennessee with our husbands and kids.  We saw University of Tennessee play 2 games and got to hand out with Ange.  It was a lot of fun and great to be with my friends.

Celebrated my 3 year wedding anniversary.  Three years hard to believe.  Still going strong and loving my husband more and more everyday!

Did an interview with a Korean TV station that is doing a story on girls/women playing sports.  In Korea the girls aren’t encouraged so much to play sports, just to study and do school work.  So did an interview with them sharing what we have been through in the U.S. and the way we have grown woman sports.

Ran some private clinics and attended a 2 hour talk at the Moore center in Wilton ct.

Went trick or treating with my little bumblebee!

Dave and I finally got to do our cooking class that a friend got for us for our wedding.  Ellie Deaner cooking class. It was great and we had a great time.  We have actually made some of the meals since the class and I have to say Ellie did a great job teaching because they turned out pretty darn good!!!!!!!!!!

November:

Still taking Sid to her classes.  Did her last couple of classes but signed up for next session because she had so much fun!

Did a clinic for the Worcester Academy soccer team.  Great time with these girls.  They did a great job at the clinic and were a lot of fun to train.

Got my hair cut!

Attended the America Scores poetry jam.  All the kids that participated in the after school soccer program now participate in reading their poetry out in front of their family in friends at the Strand Theatre in Boston.  They all did a great job and it was great to see.

Went to Fort Worth Texas to visit one of my best friends from high school.  We hadn’t seen each other for a long time so it was so great to finally see her.  I got to see her 6 month old baby girl and she got to see mine for the first time!  I just hope we get to see each other more frequently.

During this whole summary I have been doing my training. Running and going to CATZ to get ready for my season!

So no rest for the weary, especially with Thanksgiving coming around the corner, make sure you get out there and exercise or take a walk the day of thanksgiving; I promise it will make you feel better.

Happy Thanksgiving!  Give thanks because we are all thankful for something!
I’m thankful for my healthy baby girl, my husband, my family and friends who I love dearly and new friends that I have made.

Thank God for giving us all that we have!

Always Believe,
Kristine Lilly
