Hi Kristine,
My name is Gina. I'm 16 years old. I have been playing soccer since I was 5. I have played on my high school's soccer team the past two years. I mostly play forward and I'm the high scorer on the team. Even though I am the high scorer I miss a lot. I just get so nervous especially since there is a bigger crowd watching and cheering than I'm used to. Were you nervous when you started playing with a bigger crowd especially when you started playing with the U.S. team? Do you have any techniques you use to help you from being nervous? Well you are an inspiration. I look up to you so much and I one day hope to play as well as you.

Hey Gina,
I get nervous before every game. It is good to get a little nervous before games, but it seems like your nerves interfere with your play. When our crowds did get bigger, it was a bit more nerve-racking, however it soon passed because once the whistle blew, I forgot about the fans and played the game I loved. Some things that have helped me in the past is to address each game the same no matter if there are a lot of people, no people, big game, scrimmage, home or away. If you go into each game the same you build up a routine and then you just settle in. Just remember it is a game and you love the game and just to do your best. I have made so many mistakes in games and in the end the fans still love you anyway.
Good Luck and just relax.

My name is Morgan and I am from just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am 15 and I really hope to break into professional soccer, but it seems that most of the pros were on the younger national teams or somewhere up there at my age and I just wanted to know if it will still be possible for me to get noticed during high school or even college. I have such a big passion for the game and I really want to make it a big part of my life. I play any chance I can get but in the off season it becomes really difficult with the snow and ice. It's something that always makes me feel like I'm at home when I'm out on the field and if I could play all day everyday, I would.
Thank you,
Morgan
Hey Morgan,
I first got noticed when I was in high school. I was 16 when I made the National Team. I think it is possible to get noticed at anytime. We had some players make the team that got noticed in the WUSA, when the league was still around. So there are always people looking out for new talent to help make our National Team better. Plus with the Womens Professional League, coming back it is another opportunity to get noticed by the National coaches. In the meantime enjoy the game, work hard and have fun. I know what it is like in the cold months, I spent many of hours in my high school gym in Wilton kicking against the wall and dribbling and juggling.
Keep up the good work,
Kristine
Kristine,
First of all I just want to say you are an amazing athlete and soccer player. I feel you have one of the strongest hearts for the game of current players. Your work ethic and determination motivate me as an athlete. I have a question for you and I don't know how to ask it so I am just going to come out and ask it. Is it your choice to not play with the U.S. National Team or is Pia just passing up some amazing skill and leadership.
I miss you on the National Level.
Keep up everything you do. You are an amazing role model for so many.
Megan
hi megan
it isn’t my choice not to be with the nat. team. I haven’t been called up.
Hopefully it will happen.
Thanks for being a fan.
